Committee Reports: We need as many of you as possible to pick just one activity, event or
goal.
1. Social Media-engagement:
-We have a new logo for use on our webpage, FB page etc.
-We are experimenting with Sunday afternoon gatherings for different age groups to
engage with like-minded people in our community. It is important to socially engage people
without always asking for money.
-Membership Campaign: Central Committee has offered to pay half the cost of a mailing
directed at the 400 newly registered Democrat voters in CC. This list ranges in age from 18-88,
with approximately 25% aged under 36 years of age. It will be a post card that introduces the
Club and encourages them to join us and get involved. The cost is $450 dollars which includes
production, printing and mailing. We would need to conduct follow up with phone calls in order
for this to be affective. Central Committee and the Club Executive board recommends this
activity and cost and would like member feedback.
2. Programs/hospitality:
- We are exploring having a Democracy 101 course to offer to our members and other like-
minded people in Christian County. This will be a replica of the very successful program
introduced by the Greene County Democrats. This will be sponsored by the Club and free of
charge to attend.
- We have joined in and help coordinate some peaceful protests. We have a listing of
upcoming peaceful protests. There has also been a postcard writing party, that was very
successful. If you have interest in having a post card writing party, Sam Burn will be more than
happy to assist you to help make yours successful as well.
-We need volunteers to help man our booth at NIXPO March 22, at Nixa HS from 9 am-3
pm. Please speak with Bob Rubino if you are interested.
- We would like to gage interest in participating in Nixa Sucker Days Parade May 17 th . We
can march as a group or make a float for the event
3. Fundraising: Our first annual St. Patrick’s Day party on 3/8 was very successful for raising
funds and fun! THANK YOU! To everyone who bought a ticket. A big thank you to
Sabrina Bonnette for supplying great decorations! Sheila Michaels who out did herself
with taking care of our VIP/SWAG tables and for rolling up her sleeves and prepping
vegetables for our meal! To Bob Rubino, Sheila Michaels, Jeremy Hayes, Jeanie Skibiski,
Liz Dudash-Buskirk and Greene County Democrats for making phone calls, to promote
the event. To everyone who helped set up and clean up! And to the Eagles Club for
being such wonderful, easy to work with and extremely generous hosts. The evening
was a wonderful, FUN, and collective SUCCESS!
- Jeanie Skibiski has designed T-shirts with our Club Logo. Shirts sell for $25 each and they
are available for sale at our club meeting!
4. Positions & Issues:
- We along with groups in Greene County have been coordinating peaceful protests to
demand a Town Hall with our Congressman Burlison. The 7 th Congressional District has
not had a live, in-person town hall for 14 years!
-There are so many disturbing events happening almost hourly in our Country, State and
County. No person can address all of them and the chaos can be overwhelming. If you
can, pick one thing/issue/concern that you really care about and focus your attention on
that one thing. We can fight back and care for ourselves at the same time.
5. By-laws- The Executive Board has requested that the by-laws committee come up with
new directives regarding social media owned by the Club.
